As the Industrial Sewing Machine Operator (ISMO), you will effectively and accurately measure, cut and sew various materials following all applicable instructions, policies and procedures as provided by Ben-Mor Cables Inc.
Responsibilities
- Minimum of one (1) year of production and/or manufacturing experience;
- Previous experience with sewing is an asset – personal or professional;
- Familiarity with measurements, measuring tools and interpreting and following instructions;
- Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail;
- Capability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced and changing environment;
- Must be professional, punctual, reliable and willingness to learn;
- Must have ability to regularly lift, lower, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs with rotation;
- Must be physically capable of working in various positions for lengthy periods of time (sit, bend, squat, kneel, stand)
Position conditions
- Shifts Available: Days, Afternoons and Evenings (4:00pm – 12:30pm) with training on days (7:00am-3:30pm or afternoons 12:30-9:00pm);
- Position Type: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours, Monday-Friday
- Location: South end of Barrie, Ontario
- Starting Wage: $17/hour plus an afternoon shift premium of $1.25/hour for hours worked after 4pm
- Repetitive work requiring sitting position;
- Ability to lift, lower, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs with rotation is required.
